10GBASE-T requires higher-quality cabling and improved signal performance compared with conventional Gigabit Ethernet. Cat6A and Cat7 cabling provide the bandwidth and transmission characteristics required for reliable 10Gbps operation over distances up to 100m under appropriate installation conditions.
