The IP68 ODVA Multiport Waterproof Fiber Terminal Distribution Box is a rugged outdoor fiber distribution enclosure designed to provide protected fiber access in FTTx, FTTH, FTTA, and other demanding outdoor network environments. It supports 2 to 12 hardened fiber ports and provides pre-connected access through sealed adapters, allowing technicians to connect or extend fiber services without opening the enclosure or carrying out on-site fiber splicing. The modular design makes it suitable for applications where rapid deployment, reliable environmental protection, and convenient field access are important.

Manufactured with a durable PC+ABS enclosure and IP68-rated sealing, the terminal provides protection against dust, water ingress, and challenging outdoor conditions. Multiple hardened connector interfaces, including ODVA/OptiTap, Mini SC, ODC, PTLC, and PTMPO, can be configured according to the network architecture. Wall-mount, aerial, and pole-mount options provide installation flexibility, while PLC splitters and splice sleeves can be integrated when the distribution point requires optical splitting or fiber splicing functions.

OEM and customized fiber terminal distribution boxes can be manufactured according to different network architectures and deployment requirements. Customers can specify the number of ports, hardened adapter type, connector configuration, PLC splitter ratio, splice configuration, mounting method, cable entry arrangement, and other enclosure characteristics.

Custom branding, labeling, packaging, color, internal fiber management components, and connector configurations can also be provided for OEM and volume projects. Customized assemblies can be developed according to customer drawings, network specifications, or existing deployment standards.

Can the box be used as both a fiber distribution point and a splitter enclosure?

Yes. PLC splitters can be integrated into the enclosure when the network requires optical signal splitting. This allows the box to combine fiber distribution and splitting functions within a single protected outdoor enclosure.

What is the benefit of a hardened connector system for outdoor deployment?

Hardened connectors are designed for repeated field connections while maintaining environmental protection around the optical interface. They allow technicians to connect pre-terminated fiber without opening the main enclosure, which can simplify deployment and reduce the amount of specialized splicing work required in the field.

Which mounting method should be selected for an outdoor installation?

The appropriate mounting method depends on the physical location and available infrastructure. Wall mounting is suitable for building or cabinet surfaces, while pole and aerial mounting are useful for access networks deployed along utility poles or overhead fiber routes. The mounting configuration can be selected according to the installation environment.

Can different hardened connector types be combined in one box?

Depending on the internal configuration, the box can be customized with different connector arrangements to match the required network interfaces. The specific combination should be defined during configuration because connector dimensions, port allocation, and internal fiber routing can vary between connector types.

Does IP68 protection mean the enclosure can be permanently submerged?

IP68 indicates a high level of protection against dust and water ingress, but the exact conditions for water immersion depend on the manufacturer’s specified test parameters. For permanent or deep-submersion applications, the required environmental conditions should be confirmed when selecting the enclosure configuration.
